Review on Xspec 26" 21-Speed Folding Mountain Bike - Perfect For Trails, Commuting & Adults by Dwayne Shavers

Poorly constructed bike

*PROS*- Bike frame is very strong and sturdy.- Fold Latch hae a very sucure locking mechanism.- Duel Suspension is phenomenal at shock absorption.*CONS*- Cheap plastic pedals. (Which broke by the way). And im only 5'7 160lbs. So you will more than likely have to change your pedals. Regardless of they break or not. Extra money out of your pocket.- Disk break came bent.Probably occurred during shipping. However the guys at the bike shop definitely let me know how difficult that could make the installation.-Horrible gear shifting21 speed bike. 3 to the left. 7 to the right. The gear switches feel very cheap. Weak plastic. On gear 1 on the left everything moves smoothly through 1-7 on the right. However it often feels like it skips teeth on the crank when i petal.Gear 2 on the left would be ideal for me. However when moving from 1-7 the chain makes a very annoying grinding noise. So annoying that everyone literally stares at you when you ride by. Gear 3 on the left is the smoothest and most quiet. However when who the hell wants to ride on heavy gears in a city where there are so many hills (NYC)?ANDDDD! If you dare switch gears from the left side while riding be aware. Because the bike does a pathetic job at moving the chain across. The bike chain will grind a long time before catching. Or often just completely slip off the crank (or w.e its called). The chain actually got jammed twice in between the crank. I was in the middle of the street with jammed pedals. I mean if nothing else. At least let the bike be able to change gears without slipping or jamming the chain. The guy at the bike shop told me this problem only occurs with cheap bikes. He told me to pick a left gear i like the best and just use that. I would of just just gear two. But its too noisy. I'd rather just choose a new bike.I returned the bike even though they suggested i hold tight for customer support. They suggested sending me parts so that i can repair parts for a brand new bike. That defeats the purpose of a new bike! Its been about two weeks since I mailed it back. Still hasn't gotten to them yet. Still no return. Still unsatisfied.
