Works Out Of The Box; However, it didn't fit my 4.5 inch Makita grinder perfectly. At the time my model was listed on the description page but now they seem to have changed the description. It makes sense; I used a clamp washer/ring but was only able to set it 3/32" to 1/8". After tightening the auger/hose clamp and trying to align it with a grinding wheel and adjust it a bit more by adding some tape here and there, it worked great. I would say my favorite factor is the amount of dust it removes from the air. With the right vacuum cleaner attachment, I can be sure that the amount of dust extracted will also reach my workshop vacuum cleaner. In terms of dust extraction I would give 5 stars. Why did I give three stars now? It worked great the first time, but when I had to install it the second time, the clamp broke and the springs (used to push the brush) in the dust cover got stuck. I had to spend a lot of time cleaning, lubricating, removing the brushes from the dust cover and reinstalling the springs in it. They give you two extra clamps, but since my Makita grinder isn't that tight, the first clamp causes the second clamp to break. There's a chance I overtightened the yoke, but with only 3/32"-1/8" of mating space, getting it back in place without moving it is quite difficult. This time I just had to leave the dust cover attached to the grinder for the rest of my repair. If the description at the time didn't list my grinder model, this review would have been different because I felt I should use tape and spend more time fitting it better. So far I've used it for about 2500 square feet for a month and it's holding up. Sometimes the flush sanding door accidentally opens during sanding, which can be annoying. Will update once I've finished sanding another 1500m². feet
