The picture quality is quite decent. I'm not sure if this TV is 720p or 1080p. The specs say 720p. However, the TV accepts and displays a 1080p signal. There is no difference in image quality between 720p and 1080p. So I'm assuming this TV will convert 1080p to 720p. However, the sound from the internal speakers is weak. Significantly stiffer than comparable televisions. No matter how you adjust the bass and treble, the sound quality seems to be below average. Therefore, a soundbar is an absolute must. Switching inputs is also a problem. You must press enter, then up/down arrow keys to highlight an input, and then select/ok to select an input. Pressing Enter multiple times will not cycle through the inputs. Even without pressing select/ok, the input does not change to the highlighted input. This is the most awkward way to select an input I've seen on a TV. I had to explain to the kids and other adults in the house how to change the entrances. It's also not a smart TV. For the price I expected more. If you absolutely need a TV of this size, or different inputs and outputs, there are many other TV options for a lot less money. I choose this model only because of the size of 28 inches. That size is hard to come by as you usually get 24-inch and 32-inch TVs.
