We have a 1999 Honda Civic that has had some sort of glitch in the engine check system. We've reported this to three mechanics who can't figure it out. But otherwise it's fine, assure me - it's just a misreading. Since I'm tired of paying them to actually turn off the check engine light, I've settled on a code reader that can reset the light itself. And hopefully also let me know if I REALLY have a real problem and what it might be before I hit the store. I don't have much mechanical skill, but I was able to easily turn off the check engine light with this device. Keep in mind that the manual is a terrible translation and doesn't make much sense unless you already know how to use one of them. However, it's not that hard to figure out. Just read the screens. Be amazed when you don't know what something means. I don't know - works for what I need it for so I'm happy. EDIT: The neighbor next door asked if he could play with this reader and I said yes. He tried it on his 2007 Subaru Baja. The codes accurately reflected a chronic problem with the car's oxygen sensor.
