I'm building a short wall of railroad ties. The ground I build on is solid rock. After drilling the sleepers with a wood drill bit, I used it to make a 1/2" diameter hole in the rock for the rebar. It mostly works, but the chuck on my hammer drill broke the end of the drill bit. I used it to drill about 30 holes from 6" to 16" deep. It did the job, just not sure how long the drill bit's neck will last in the chuck as it's quite torn. , it worked fine and saved me quite a bit compared to the branded beat. Not to mention finding a non-SDS bit that is 18" long is unheard of in big stores. If you're a weekend warrior, buy with confidence .
