Review on EBC Brakes DP2889 Greenstuff Sport by Ronald Cambridge

This is the second set of EBC Greenstuff brake pads for a 2000 Nissan Maxima. We live in the foothills near Lake Tahoe. My wife drives the car as intended and designed (lever shift). Steep and winding mountain roads repeatedly put a strain on the brakes and tires of all cars. The first set did about 45,000 miles. These brake pads are awesome. They are quiet, last a long time and work great. They are pretty easy to affect the rotors. Cheap aftermarket rotors (Chinese) have served well with these pads. I'm not new to EBC rotors or pads. I have EBC rotors and Greenstuff pads on a Toyota MR2 and I have used EBC 6000 and 7000 series pads on a Dodge RAM 2500 Diesel. These Greenstuff pads are very dirty and leave a lot of dust until they are fully seated. (1500 miles or so), they are very clean. The brake pads on my Dodge truck made so much noise when running in that I almost blew them off. I'm very glad I didn't because after the break-in period (about 1500 miles) they are very quiet and have very little dust and also brake 20-30% better than stock Dodge pads (very glad I hung up have with brake squeal, in the end it's worth it). The MR2's EBC pads and rotors made it the best braking car I've ever driven or driven (I've driven friends' Porsches and Z06 Vettes. When the tires are hot the car stops at 60 mph in under 100 Foot on .Stop G-Force is amazing and helped me avoid the inevitable deer collision! Invest the money and buy new gear (complete)I also index the rotors with a dial indicator.It just takes a little extra effort to noticeably to get better Dial indicators are cheap and easy to find with a good magnetic base Be sure to lubricate the pins etc on the calipers I have sometimes found the EBC paints to thicken a little and interfere with the pad back plates and their seating in the caliper Sometimes had to lightly file off some paint to allow the spacer to slide smoothly into the calipers.Make sure you use a high temp grease Use the brake calipers carefully at the appropriate lubrication points. Do not hit the surface of the rotor or the brake pads. I am very happy with the EBC pads and will continue to buy them as long as they produce a quality product.
