I don't trust silicone because it's dirty or maybe I'm dirty. But I've been using Felpro gaskets along with High Tack Gasket Sealant for over 30 years. Great combination, try it. After two or three years, your seals will come off intact and never leak, and the same goes for vacuum leaks!
