Review on πŸ₯œ Texan Nut Sheller 00001: The Ultimate Nut Cracking Solution - Texan York Sheller-Nut Cracker by Patrice Dorsey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The percentage of pecan halves is a third higher than other leading nutcrackers.

I shell a lot of pecans a year (bushel). My main nutcracker is Dukes Pecan Pecan Cookies and I wanted to try a different bowl. Here are the results of direct testing of both products. The peeling time for 10 ounces of pecan paste is almost the same (within a minute). The halves count is 6.2 ounces for Dukes, 8.5 ounces for The Texan York Sheller. Easy to use Dukes with a little edge. Price - Texas York, best price Durability - undefined (but Duke has been strong for years). I had to add some blue Loctite to the pivot bolt and top blade bolts on the Texan York as all three quickly came loose. I'm not sure how long the blades will stay sharp, but I see it as a potential cost at some point. All in all a very good peeler, especially if the number of pecan halves is important to you.

Pros
  • Awesome
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, it's ok
