Half too smart for special tools and gadgets

This article is not a universal nutcracker. It actually does poorly as an all-purpose nut/shellfish cracker. This is a very good pecan shell. If you remove the plastic protection, you can also shell the walnut (although with a thicker shell, this is a little less elegant and more explosive than the clean cut you get with a pecan). If shelling whole pecans is an activity that you should have a special tool in your life for, then it might not be a bad thing. If you're looking for a quality…

The best walnut!

I was a little worried about the reviews that it might accidentally harm someone. So glad I ordered. I've never had such a great nutcracker. It cracks all kinds of nuts I throw at it. I'm 70 and have weak hands. The desktop nutcracker model was too complex for me. Other tames did not crack nuts with heavier shells. I wouldn't put it in the hands of a child. Can slip and pinch. I pinched my arm several times before becoming more careful with how I held it. I love freshly mixed nuts instead of…

Great for hazelnuts - please read!

I bought a nut cutter for hazelnuts and clearly had my doubts about this purchase. It looks too big for a hazelnut, but turned out to be the perfect choice. about this cracker?1. You don't have to be careful where you put the nuts, it even works with your eyes closed.2. The nutshell doesn't fly all over the room - it's easy to clean up afterwards.3. Good for nuts of different sizes. A tip: if the nuts are small, like hazelnuts, you sometimes have to hold the cracker upright to make it easier to

I shell a lot of pecans a year (bushel). My main nutcracker is Dukes Pecan Pecan Cookies and I wanted to try a different bowl. Here are the results of direct testing of both products. The peeling time for 10 ounces of pecan paste is almost the same (within a minute). The halves count is 6.2 ounces for Dukes, 8.5 ounces for The Texan York Sheller. Easy to use Dukes with a little edge. Price - Texas York, best price Durability - undefined (but Duke has been strong for years). I had to add some…

good tool. Hard pecans.

Arrived quickly. I thought it came with 4 picks too, but it doesn't. I must have mixed it up with another nutcracker I was thinking of. Anyway, I harvested about 5 pounds of pecans over the weekend. Was very excited to hack and shoot them. I even looked on YouTube hoping I could figure out how to pull them out completely. I have to say that this walnut splitter is very strong and well made and the blades are razor sharp. I don't blame this thing, but in my strong woman hands, the projectiles…

ISO: The Perfect Pecan Cracker

.and they're not the same. First, it's a dangerous tool. It was easy to cut off the fingertip. Use with caution! KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN. It comes with no instructions and I don't understand what it says on the box "just how to flip the blue cap". This mechanism does not work well with small nuts. The gap between the knives is 1/4 inch. The handle folds at the end and will pinch your hand if held too far back, and the angle of the blades seemed reasonable on the one I got. The main downside is…

***Amazing Nutcracker***

I have stage 4 lupus and cirrhosis with severe joint pain, joint swelling, weakness and fatigue. I bought Texan Nut Sheller and the next day I was able to sit and shell pecans with no pain or joint swelling. Texan Nut Sheller is very EASY to use and doesn't require much effort to crack the shell. However, it took me an hour of shelling to prepare to shell the perfect whole pecan. I was so impressed with this pecan shell that I ordered 2 more with spare blades for Christmas gifts. I also bought…

After all, shelling pecans isn't a nightmare!

We love to eat the pecans we pluck from the local park, but shooting at our prey has always resulted in severe finger pain and pecan slivers. Once we figured out how to use this sheller (using a YouTube video as someone else suggested), we were on our toes. Pecans are now easy to shell, and more often than not we end up with whole (well, halves, you know what I mean) pieces rather than fragments. If you don't feel like searching for videos, the short version on how to use this sheller is: 1…

Discounted Texas York Nutsheller design

The Texas York Nutsheller design I received two months ago was heavily discounted. I am an engineer. I compared the new cultivator design to my old cultivators, which worked well on local pecans until I wore them out. The new design has a smaller angle and the Phillips head screws that hold the inserts onto the angled jaws are very short. They are constantly weakening and cannot hold the plates firmly in place. These screws are only about 1/3 the thread depth compared to the heavy duty screws…

  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
