The valves on my '77 Kawasaki KZ650 could not be compressed with a regular valve spring compressor. valve and the valve spring plate. The location to pull out the retaining tabs was perfect, I just used a small hook with an o-ring. They jumped right out. Left no marks on the valve or anything and worked very well for my use.
