It doesn't have a ton of torque, but it's good enough to climb pretty steep hills with no pedaling. It does have a decent fast top speed, and reaches it in around 7-10 seconds, depending on weight/road. What battery you get will greatly effect the performance/range of the motor so get a good one if you can. Be sure to upgrade to disk brakes and better tires, as most stock bikes wont have great brakes/tires. I got a flat on my rear tire that came with the bike and the V brakes are poor for slowing down a heavy e-bike. The stock tire this kit comes with is pretty meh, and only after 2 weeks of use the tread is nearly worn away, another good reason to upgrade to decent aftermarket tires/tubes. I'll revisit this review if something goes wrong with the motor or something, otherwise so far so good and got everything in the kit.
