My Wife calls this a "game changer "

I installed this on my wife's bike since she had trouble keeping up with me, and riding hills to her meant walking her bike up them. After installing this she said she really enjoys going for rides and still gets plenty of exercise, just only when she wants. I didn't install the petal sensor or connect the speed limiter jumper -- she just uses the twist throttle and that seems to be fine. Don't know the range (everyone asks) but I'd guess 25+ miles with occasional use. Note that the hub motor…

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • The motor might overheat, leading to a hazardous riding experience.

So close to perfect, but ultimately well worth the price.

First things first, lets be real clear. I've actually bought two of these. Not because the first one failed and I'm a glutton for punishment, but because I'm making a second bike for my wife to ride around on. So it's FAR from my complaints breaking the deal, there are just a couple things that rubbed me the wrong way. The worst thing is the little bag that comes with it to house the control mechanism. Its the worst. It's just a cheap bag with the wires hanging out the zipper. There's no reason

Pros
  • very powerful and nice throttle response. 48v 14ah battery is great for 20 miles range.
Cons
  • The motor is weak. There is no control display.

Powerful, but not spinning freely

I installed this on a 7 speed beach cruiser to encourage myself to get more exercise. It is powerful and hits 30mph without pedaling. The PAS on it takes off with full power with a turn of the crank regardless of how fast they turn so the motor does most of the work, rather than giving you exercise. There is an issue when using without power or coasting. The wheel spins freely at times, which feels like regular bike but sometimes there is considerable resistance. Enough to wear you out if your…

Pros
  • good to have it
Cons
  • The voltage of the motor might be too powerful for some riders to handle.

Breaks easy and bad customer service

The controller and throttle will burn out easy. Not worth the purchase. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra couple hundred on an American made kit or just a pre-built setup. Replacement parts take weeks to arrive from China and this controller is built poorly, will break after almost every use. Customer service tried to steal my money on paypal and I still have not received the replacement parts from 6 months ago.Complete waste, sitting in my garage collecting dust for a year, have only…

Pros
  • Higher speeds: can help you achieve greater speeds at a higher efficiency
Cons
  • The kit requires specialized tools and knowledge to install, limiting its overall accessibility.

Beware - dangerous design

1. Safety - LOOK OUT! By chance I looked at the wiring recently to find that the wire insulation had melted, and insulation from adjacent wires had fused together. Luckily nothing shorted, but this could have been an absolute disaster (short circuiting a lithium ion battery can be catastrophic - imagine riding 20 miles per hour when an explosion and 2,000 degree Fahrenheit fire starts a foot behind you). Keep a VERY close eye on the wiring. Check it regularly. Don't trust it.2. Installation…

Pros
  • Works awesome. So easy to install
Cons
  • The electric motor might be too loud, disturbing the peace of others on the road.

Good motor but bad quality control

Here's the bad: wheel wobbles which required spoke adjustment, regular disk brakes won't work due to rubbing on the motor body (you need to buy a low profile caliper), throttle handle interferes with the gear shifter for right hand mounting and some pins on the cable harness were not fully seated. The good: Cheap, reliable motor and fun to use so if you like working on bikes, then get it.

Pros
  • Im telling you now its fastRight now im 196lbs it moves with that much weight
Cons
  • The conversion kit adds significant weight to the bicycle, which might reduce its overall speed and agility.

Fast and powerful good for me

This thing really cooks. It's a little scary at first going that fast. It is a no brainer to install. Just don't put it on backwards. It came with a thinner tire, but I put on my fatter cruiser tire and it fits fine. Just be sure to use the tube that comes with it because it has the needed longer valve stem. Also get some self adhesive silicone tape to waterproof the wire connections. If you live in a really rainy place you may want to get some liquid electrical tape too. I think it depends on…

Pros
  • Love this Front Hub Motor kit!
Cons
  • The battery life is not long enough to support long-distance travel.

Awesome Customer Service (USA, Brooklyn NY)

Awesome Customer Service, they were able to send me a second one with no problem after USP lost the first one. Very friendly and helpful, everything through email. Very easy to install and worked like a charm. Installed on a bike I had for the last 30 years a Pacific 5000 bike. Turn something old into something new and exciting again. Finally, I was able to take it out for a ride due to the weather. Awesome, fast, and powerfully and I was able to get it past 25 mp after that it was getting…

Pros
  • Cycling
Cons
  • The hub motor design can make the bike difficult to handle for beginner riders.

So far so good in my review

It doesn't have a ton of torque, but it's good enough to climb pretty steep hills with no pedaling. It does have a decent fast top speed, and reaches it in around 7-10 seconds, depending on weight/road. What battery you get will greatly effect the performance/range of the motor so get a good one if you can. Be sure to upgrade to disk brakes and better tires, as most stock bikes wont have great brakes/tires. I got a flat on my rear tire that came with the bike and the V brakes are poor for…

Pros
  • Lightweight
Cons
  • The conversion kit doesn't support regenerative braking, reducing its overall efficiency and sustainability.

Seller worked very hard to make this kit work for me

Thank you Wisdominthebox! Good work! We had some problems with the torque washer (the one with the tab), but were able to work it out. Many American bikes have 'lawyer tabs' that can cause difficulties. If your fork lugs have 'lawyer tabs' or if you have aluminum forks, consider adding a torque arm. They're available from Revain. The kit is amazing! Fast! .and 1000 watts strong. You probably should use a torque arm no matter what.(You can temporarily use a 10 mm open-end wrench with hose clamps…

Pros
  • Great product. Pulls me up hills good. I can ride about 30 miles on a charge with a 20 amp hour battery.
Cons
  • Error gode 3. Foesnt work. Seller refuses to send returnlabel

Super Awesome: my feedback

For the price, you are getting a awesome product. It took me a bit to install, but I put it on a 7 speed cruiser and it is awesome. It is very quiet ( does make a motorized sound, but it is very minimal ) and very powerful. Not to mention, really fun.The cruiser I used has rim caliper brakes, and though I can get a full stop right now, I am not so sure about how long those brake pads will last. I will need to eventually ( soon ) install disc brakes or get a different bike with disc brakes…

Pros
  • Wheels
Cons
  • The conversion kit might not be suitable for long-distance commuting, as the battery life is limited.

Make your bike electric and fast.

Very happy with this conversion kit. I had no problems installing it. The front wheel fit perfect, I did clean up the holes before putting on the rubber strip around the wheel then I used my original white wall tire. Ran all the wires in the harness to controller. Easy connections .I did not install the PAS on the pedal. Bought a 48v battery and this bike goes. Flys uphill more power than I thought. I recommend you buy this one for your bike.

Pros
  • Safe to use
Cons
  • The motor might make the bike unstable, leading to balance issues.

Didn't work very low quality brand

I had another kit that I bought 12 years ago that worked great that had silver rings on the side of the motor but I hit a pothole and bent the axle really bad inside the motor and destroyed the rim, so I replaced it with this one and it was absolute garbage, I have two torque arms that are welded and this thing is low quality and fits them loosely so it's still rocks back and forth a quarter turn and loosens the nuts, it's very hard to turn like it's got the regenerative braking going all the…

Pros
  • CE, EN15194 approved; 48 Volt electrokinetic cell battery with a nominal capacity not less than 11.6Ah is required.
Cons
  • The PAS system doesn't work efficiently, reducing the overall speed and power of the conversion kit.

Not recommended for my opinion

After using this product for about 50 miles, the motor became very noisy and stopped working. The supplier diagnosed the problem as a bad controller and sent me a new one. Recently, the wheel started vibrating very badly, and came out of the front fork, even though I had installed torque arms for extra security. I was thrown from the bike. The wires to the wheel were stretched and probably shorted, since there was an audible click from the controller and it started smoking, accompanied by a…

Pros
  • Smart device well built
Cons
  • The kit requires a complex pre-installation process, including disconnecting bicycle brakes and derailleur.

great kit for a huffy nel lusso

great kit for a huffy nel lusso built i love this bike even more then what it was. it can take me around town with no problem and it can climb most step hills (p.s. have not install the hall sensor as of yet). but all in all a great commuter.

Pros
  • is good product
Cons
  • The battery has a limited lifespan and would need to be replaced after a few years.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Rugged. A TORQUE ARM must be used!

Recreation. I had not installed a torque arm initially. Caused wheel to come off immediately, twisting wire badly, but no damage to connection! Must install a torque arm!

Pros
  • Wheels & Accessories
Cons
  • The added weight of the kit can cause strain on other bike components such as wheels, brakes, and frame.

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works well enough once I replaced the tube

Mounted tire and pumped it up to 50 lbs and the tube literally exploded inside the tire ten minutes later. Good thing I was not riding it. Seller didn't care and would not reimburse me for a new tube.Use your old tube from the wheel you took off.

Pros
  • I love it
Cons
  • The conversion kit is not environmentally friendly, as it uses electricity to run.

Bad business good for me

From day one battery light indicator didn't work request a replacement in March they said that they were out of stock here we are 4 months still nothing not good

Pros
  • Easy to hook up. good range 3 wheel trike.
Cons
  • The extra wiring and attachments can make the bike look awkward and unattractive.

Motor malfunction best in my review

It’s making way to much noiseOne works fineI want a replacement sent out ASAP The motor might produce an electric smell, leading to an unpleasant riding experience..

Pros
  • Energy-efficient: The 26" Electric Bicycle Conversion Kit offers an electric biking option that consumes minimal energy
Cons
  • The motor might produce an electric smell, leading to an unpleasant riding experience.

Easy set up, lots of fun putting together.

I loved my cruiser since my grand kids were young, now they are grown and have their own children, I dusted off my old bike and gave it new life. The 1000 watt motor really gets you going. My old knees love it. I put a lot of miles going to work every day and it saves money on gas.

Pros
  • I liked the ease of install. I weigh 280 and it has plenty of power to pull me.
Cons
  • Solid Axle Only front fork dropouts. Works well on a Schwinn Ranger 26" Mountain Bike.
