This is a 2 inch drop or a 1.5 inch rise. I bought this for my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan which has an aftermarket tow bar that comes out low under the bumper like a car. With significant effort and two lengthened crescent wrenches, I was able to pry the ball out and toggle to create lift. However, the lifting platform is not sufficient for my car. My two boats, one 16ft and the other 17ft, sit too low on the wagon even with no gear and no people. Next time I'll try a 4" drop and a 3.5" rise. Also remember that there is a lot of play where the shaft is in the receiver. Slightly more than some of the other brands, but it's probably better to have a little rattling than get stuck, which is what happens with a tight fit!
