You can see from the packaging that it is a quality tool. Solid and just enough weight so you know you got what you paid for. The handle has multiple diamond-cut ribs that provide extra grip. The main shaft goes through the handle and is welded to the handle in two places. Both above and below. The size of the shaft at the base of the handle is small enough that if you wrap your whole hand around the handle, the shaft fits comfortably between your fingers when gripping. The rod has a slight taper towards the end and a slight bend in front of the hook. Thanks to this design, by rotating the handle 360 degrees, you can lock or adjust the spring in almost any direction. Used to reattach the large lift assist spring on a John Deere GT275 mower. This spring attaches to the front of the frame and attaches to a slot in the stem a little over 1/2 way back along the frame guide. I stretched the spring through the slot using wire and clips. Then, once it was in the correct position, I used this tool to securely set the spring in place with minimal effort and to protect my hands from possible damage. It connected well and provided the leverage needed to safely remove and reattach the spring. I plan to add this to my mental short list of "what I have available" for additional possible tasks.
