Review on Galway Shoe for Men in Black from Propet by Drew Springer

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not the shoe I've bought 6 times

Comfortable but a lot cheaper - both in price and durability I think - than previous running shoes. the same shoe I've worn for over a decade and it's my fifth pair of black ones along with two pairs of brown ones which I wear mainly for walking but occasionally as casual wear at work. Three to four miles a day, September through April (then Ecco running shoes). After a little more than a month, the paragraphs have already rounded off. I'm very picky about shoes, especially heels, and I appreciated Propet for their early 10,000-mile tread guarantee, which I've never tested or attempted to collect. However, I have always been pleased with the durability and comfort. I was afraid that the complaints about the new version, which I read about in the dissatisfied reviews of many readers, would turn out to be such, but this is not entirely true. It's still a comfortable walker I wear now with a Birkenstock insole (more or less orthopedic) which the Propets fit well with the removable liner. However, these are not the same shoes and the price has skyrocketed. little over the years. And that stench that some reviewers howled over? Yes, I almost sent this pair back. It smelled like chemical waste. But I aired them out on the covered back porch for a couple of weeks, and the intense shoe polish smell didn't go away entirely, but seemed to have evaporated by about 10 percent, and after a month of non-stop wear, it was almost gone. fully. (Noses don't wrinkle when I walk into a room.) So I'm giving Galway's new Propet three stars and will be keeping a close eye on the soles and reporting any early departures. I don't know of any shoe that I'm so committed to (other than the Converse All-Stars, which I wore as my only running shoes from high school through my 30s, for over 20 years before my running fantasy caught up with me). all "slippers") and I have no idea what I will do if these new propets don't work. In terms of comfort, wearing comfort and value, they have long been unbeatable. But I'm afraid we won't see anyone like her again. Soles are flat. The top is in near perfect condition. Consequently, I docked an extra star to the shoes. The soles are rubbish - I've worn these shoes for many years and their durability has always been undeniable, but not now. The shoes also had that chemical smell that others have complained about and I had to air them outside for a few days before wearing them inside. I would like to hear from Propét what they are doing to fix their product. and its new, smelly and cheap materials. I hope to one day go back to buying the Propét Galway shoes I've worn for over 10 years and not this ruined, frayed facsimile.
