Review on πŸ”Œ EDUP USB WiFi Adapter: Affordable Nano Wi-Fi Dongle for Windows & Mac - EP-N8553 by Fred Novak

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great compatibility, bad bandwidth

This adapter worked straight away with every device I've tried. This list is not extensive, but includes five different Linux distributions (from older 3.16.0 kernels to newer 4.7.6 kernels) and the highly proprietary ChannelMaster DVR. Even with a Wi-Fi-N connection, the throughput leaves something to be desired (2.5 MB/s when transferring large files). As a result, I probably wouldn't trust it for streaming unless you're in relatively close proximity to your router and/or don't mind a bit of buffering. However, if you only have basic connectivity and/or the ability to send/retrieve data on a variety of devices from time to time, it's easily doable.
