This works well for most 120 volt only applications where you need an isolated "pass through" connection from an external generator to an internal outlet. You simply install it between the studs on the outer panel, connect a short piece of Romex and insert it into a special new socket either carved or mounted on an inner wall. This allows the generator to be used without having to run extension cords through a window or door. You still have to use extension cords around the house, but it's a lot better than having to deal with a partially open window or door. If you're really creative, figure out where in the house you want to use the portable generator's energy. Then thread the Romex over these points and add the outputs from the original setup. It would be much easier to fit a transfer case or corded circuit breaker into the generator's 240 volt outlet, but you need a permit to do so. Remember that if the power goes out and the generator starts, you still need to plug your appliances into generator-powered isolated outlets. This product is NOT suitable for use in humid environments. This requires full coverage.
