Review on πŸ”’ Black Stainless Steel Latch Locking Hood Catch Kit - Fits 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK JKU by William Gildea

Very well made, the bonnet no longer flaps!

Definitely better than standard hood locks. They're heavy, seem very strong, and hold him tight. The hood no longer wobbles when driving on the highway. I read other installation reviews before purchasing and some said to remove the grille, which I did, but I don't think it's necessary. To get to the bottom nut I simply used a short ratchet swivel attachment with a 13mm socket at the top of the fender, loosened the bolt and then unscrewed it with two fingers. When I had to put a new nut on, I held it between two fingers, threaded it over the bolt, and then put the ratchet back on. But it's up to you. It takes about 3-4 minutes to remove the front grille far enough to get into the front seat, but even then I had trouble getting my hand in there from the front (I have medium sized hands). On the "C" buckle (that's the little plastic tab that goes over the latch) it completely interferes with the latch's fit, but it's flexible and I only bent it a little. You can either do this or cut off the front a bit where it curves down. Finally, yes, recommendations suck. Very small pictures where nothing can be seen except the identification of the parts inside the box. Although it doesn't say it's there, you'll need a 10mm and 13mm ratchet for the nuts and a flat head screwdriver to remove the tabs on the grille at the top. They are absolutely worth the money and I hope my review helped.
