Even a beginner can't go wrong with this
I liked that it could detect electricity so I didn't get fried which was a nice plus. My advice, so you can tell when it's trying to alert you to electricity, keep it near an outlet and then use it. I think the fact that they not only made it a spike finder but also able to detect electricity is incredibly thoughtful. If I need anything for home maintenance I will definitely go to this company or the one I got from Bohrer.
