MacBook tolerances are very tight, so 3M had to develop a new, thinner privacy filter. It works - the laptop still closes, although you can tell the buttons hit the lid. If you don't want keyboard fingerprints on the privacy screen, it's best to place a thin cloth between the screen and the privacy screen when putting your MacBook in a laptop sleeve, but of course don't close it then. pretty tight, but that's the price you pay for using privacy filters on a laptop this thin. The privacy filter itself doesn't work as well as the 3M gold filters (which are thicker), but again, that's the price you pay for a very thin laptop.
