Review on π¨ Charvin Artist Pastels Set: 48 Assorted Colors of Chalk Pastel for Professional Artists by Paula Ward
I wish I had bought them - they are junk and not worth the price! Hardly worth a penny.
I thought they were supposed to look like Nupastels but they aren't. Colors are not very saturated. White is a dirty light gray. In the whole set only yellow, but an ocher bouquet (cheap). They are made in China, although they carry the French name "Charvin Paris". They are very granular and have no pigment. It's like painting loose plaster with a stick. If you want cheap pastels, buy some really cheap ones and they're probably better than these for less than half the price. I just bought Nupastels and the difference is DAY AND NIGHT. It's garbage.
