Great Way to Learn Kintsugi, Pretty

I think it is safe to say everyone at one point or another will end up breaking a piece of ceramic or pottery that might be disappointing. I've done it multiple times. It is nice knowing there is a fun way to try to save the carnage and keep it as a special memento. This kit allows you to learn on two small pieces that you don't have to cry if you make a mistake with. It comes with everything needed to break and glue the pieces back together with the golden epoxy accents.I used a small dixie cup. Squeeze out an even amount of the epoxy parts, mix well. Add the gold powder, again mix until it is all mixed evenly. Then start with a small amount and start putting the pieces together. I had to hold the pieces together carefully long enough for it to dry some, then I added some blue painters tape to help keep parts together. I learned that a little goes a long way, and on a few pieces, it was easiest to put a tiny bit on both broken edges, let it get tacky, then stick them firmly together.

Pros
  • Crafting
Cons
  • The Kintsugi repair technique requires a level of skill and patience that not everyone may possess, making the kit potentially frustrating for amateur repairers
