We use a lot of garden saws to build paths. I must have bought a dozen in the last few years. Oak and madrone. We have used Fiskars 6 inch slide saws and they work well. I prefer folding knives like the 7" models because they don't loosen or slip while sawing like the 6" models. It would be nice to have an extra saw blade for larger branches. Well, after we couldn't cut through a small pine tree with this saw, we threw it away. The cutting performance was just terrible - a far cry from 6 inches. It is worth carrying in the pack. We have ordered 2 more 6 inch saws. Fiskars should check its manufacturing sources as this product is far from worthy of a brand that we generally think is excellent.
