After installing the belt the tensioner was noisy and vibrated so I installed a new tensioner. After a while, the belt began to whistle when turning or turning on the air conditioner. I removed the new strap and compared it to the old one and found it was about an inch longer than the original. The tensioner wasn't able to handle that much play. Put the old belt back on and all the problems were gone. I probably never needed a new tensioner. I couldn't return the belt because the return date had passed. I expected a Gates product to fit perfectly, but it didn't and it caused a lot of hassle and expense.
