Used this on my trip to Eastern Europe and the converter was very helpful with some electronics I took with me that were made to the US 110 volt standard that would otherwise burn out at their 220 volt rating . Not only is the voltage different, the size, shape and depth of the outlets are not designed to accommodate a plug in some appliances that are typically rated 11" - 240, but this kit has an extension cord for that! in Hungary and Italy and has proven to be very good and safe. I couldn't afford to burn my b.pump and I really didn't want to buy it there so it saved my life. Used in Europe and without such a converter and burned out so check the voltage range on the back of your device and if it is only rated for 110 volts then a large transformer is a must! plug-in parts. It's also very useful that the plug-in type is color-coordinated with the map on this box so you know which device to use in which country. If you travel a little you have everything you need I put it in my hand luggage so as not to take too much weight in my regular suitcase.
