This is by far the best drill bit I have ever used. I had to drill a hole in a stainless steel sink. I installed a filtered water faucet. I'd heard there were hardening issues when drilling stainless steel, so I was nervous. I watched a few videos on You Tube and most of them used a step drill. After reading the reviews of the Klein Tools KTSB14 step drill, I decided to buy it. To keep the stainless steel cool, I placed ice cubes around where I wanted to drill the hole. I submerged the Klein Tools KTSB14 step drill in a small bowl of water with ice cubes to keep it warm. I drilled at a very SLOW speed and applied a lot of pressure and started drilling the hole. At first it just made a dimple. I dipped the drill back into the ice water and then started drilling again, but MUCH faster. Once the bat started cutting, it was impossible to stop. It cuts like a hot knife through butter. I dipped the drill into the ice water for the third time and started drilling further. I was done in seconds. The hole was cut perfectly thanks to the markings on the side of the bit and the bit felt cold to the touch due to the freezing water and the low speed I was drilling at. Writing this review took longer than drilling a hole.
