Overall this is a good device with a very small downside. I use it to connect headphones to a SPDIF source. As it turned out, this is a very powerful amp, which I think is very good for low-powered headphones, but it's overkill for mine. With the input on, I can maybe use 1/4 of the volume control with a HiFiMan Sundara (94dB sensitivity) before it gets too loud. Update: I started using the IFI IEMatch between the headphones and the amp and it completely solved the problem (IEMatch's "Ultra" sensitivity gives a good listening level at 2/3 of the volume control). I plan to try the built in attenuator (ifi dhmatch) to see if it improves things. The only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5 is because the power supply has a bright blue LED. There's no good reason for this, and it's very annoying, so I put black tape on it.
