Great sound quality and ease of use over USB. Offers an excellent soundstage and good detail. I am very happy. The perfect complement to my computer for gaming and audio.

Received the DAC in the mail today and am honestly impressed. It's far from terrible for the money, I needed something to play my 24-bit FLAC files on my laptop through my vintage hardware, and the sound quality is definitely better than my laptop's sound card. Obviously not an endgame DAC, but for now it's good enough until I can find something better.

I'm not a big music lover, but I can say that this DAC is better than my built-in sound card. It works great with my ATH-M50x. I appreciate the 1/4" jack instead of the nifty 3.5mm headphone jack. I wish the whole body was silver but you get what you pay for. The volume knob clicks and has tactile feedback when rotated. All in all a great unit for the price and an obvious buy for anyone looking for a cheap DAC!

I first bought this for a Samsung TV that didn't have a headphone jack. There was an optical port, so I needed some kind of converter or DAC. That works great. I connect the optical cable to the TV and connect the USB to the laptop. The performance and sound are much better than a laptop. This is a much better DAC and a much more powerful amplifier. It's a neat little device that does what it's supposed to do, bringing clarity and depth to higher quality digital music files, via either a built in headphone amp or powered amplifier/speakers. I doubted b/k of an unknown brand but was pleasantly surprised. It sounds at least as good as my SMSL Q5Pro DAC (which I think sounds great) and better than the much-vaunted Fiio EK10 portable, especially at the line-out level. Overall this is a good device with a very small downside. I use it to connect headphones to a SPDIF source. As it turned out, this is a very powerful amp, which I think is very good for low-powered headphones, but it's overkill for mine. With the input on, I can maybe use 1/4 of the volume control with a HiFiMan Sundara (94dB sensitivity) before it gets too loud. I ordered this DAC a week ago and spent most of my time testing it with my Beyerdynamic Xelento and my custom UE Triple Fi10. So if you look at this one, it looks pretty much the same as last year's FX-Audio X6, but the difference is in the internals. Each of them is good, but there is one slightly different.
