Load remains securely secured, anti-slip mat is an additional addition to load securing. At the speed we were driving down the freeway, the load stopped. No movement. Plenty of straps which gave me confidence that the load would be secured. The material is thick so I'm sure it's waterproof. This is the best cargo bag I have ever bought.
