MOTOACTV meets many requirements for a sports tracker:1. That's small. I don't carry my phone with me to track events and listen to music2. Combines many functions: music, GPS, heart rate, Bluetooth, WiFi, indoor and outdoor activities3. Based on Android OS4. Has some cool accessories to make it easy to use5. Descent Battery Life I see it as an 'event tracker', as opposed to the Nike+ Fuel Strap which is designed for 'all day' tracking. MOTOACTV tries to be an "all day" tracker by doing things like steps, but it's actually an event tracker. Activities are like running 5 miles or playing basketball for 2 hours. After the event ends, you stop the track and possibly move on to the next event. Honestly I like both for what they do. I use both, but event tracking is VERY important to me. Although using Nike + Fuel Band is also interesting! (I'm not looking at Nike here, and it's much more limited in what it tracks compared to MOTOACTV. Nike takes steps, calories, and fuel. Calories and steps are close to what MOTOACTV reports. I'd say they're both good and follow these indicators consistently) Good. Here are the "good" and "improvable" areas to consider in MOTOACTV:Good:1. Very small 2. Easy to use3. Has almost everything you need to track events4. The ANT+ heart rate monitor was connected immediately. (I bought a Garmin and it still works great) 5. Maintains about 12 hours of continuous battery life while tracking (recently tracking a 12 hour Grand Canyon hike) 6. Refreshes the internet automatically when I join an identified wireless Internet access point7 closer. Many predefined events and more8 are constantly being added. Tracks events even if you can't use GPS, e.g. B. running on a treadmill. (really nice feature)9. Easy-to-use buttons10. Great review forums. Things to improve: 1. The website is still in beta testing. There are very few bombs and it loads slowly. (The Nike+ site is much better)2. The desktop software for updates and bugs is still in beta. I had to uninstall and reinstall the first boot to install the latest firmware3 on my MOTOACTV. Not very accurate. I've been running the same hills for months, tracking on my Motorola Bionic phone using the phone's GPS. The phone tracks roughly the same thing every time, with a slight difference. MOTOACTV was almost 1/4 mile behind. (Although I believe newer firmware solves this problem) 4. The device stopped and started my run the other day. Lost about 10 minutes of the event.5. Event announcements are random and sometimes come a lot or not at all.6. Accessories are excellent but expensive in my opinion.7. Notifications are good, but to be honest while I'm running or training hard I don't stop looking at the TXT.8 message. More specific instructions on how to use the device and set up exercises are needed. Setting up the web calendar or event was a bit tricky. So what's the verdict? GET ONE! I agree with some quirks, and as a Motorola customer for other products, I feel the company is hard at work fixing bugs. I will keep this little friend and continue to use it. This is a great event tracker to help me progress on my journey to be at my best! It's worth the money and has a lot of great features. If you can stand the growth of bugs with it, I would recommend it!
