The rubber/felt rug backing is perfect for our 8" x 10" oval wicker rug which is on a newly renovated wooden floor lies. Without a rubber/felt backing, the carpet moved across the floor creating a dangerous situation. The new gasket is thick and can easily be cut with scissors. We traced the outline of the oval pillow pad with a sharpie marker and cut out 1-2 inches inside the outline. The cushion creates a very comfortable feeling on the woven carpet. The mat will not slip off the mat and the mat will stay in place on slippery floors. We couldn't detect any odor with the new seal either. Why is the rating 4 stars and not 5 stars? It took some time for the large crease of the folded notebook to relax and lay flat upon delivery. I was worried it wouldn't happen, but after a week it was.
