Review on Cuisinart MCP194-20N MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel 4-Quart Saucepan with Lid - Top Pick for Kitchen Cookware by Emma Santos

Great workhorse!

I've had this pan for 1.5 years and it's a real ballerina! A real gem for any home cook and I think the professional would appreciate its usefulness and durability as well. See the excellent OldProChef review for more details. I really beat this pan, even accidentally leaving it on a hot coil burner (empty and full) too many times to count. What can I say, I'm the mother of a violent baby! But this pan always cleans well (with some bartender friends). I even wet it today and it's almost as shiny as the day I took it out of the box. It has a few minor scratches from my husband and I've used metal utensils on it (as I mentioned we're pretty tough with utensils in this house) and what is called a scratch resistant cleaning pad (or from the plastic scrapers we use on Lodge). Wash the dishes). But he carries himself just as well (despite the cosmetic looks) and cooks like a champ! I think I'd like a smaller (2 quart?) and possibly a different (larger?) size if that should ever be required, but we're trying to create a minimalist household so I doubt we're more than two people will have. But they are so cool that I saw the desire to do it! I'm also checking the steamer insert and wondering if it will fit in this pan. We are currently using a stainless steel colander/colander, but I would like to calculate the volume and see if the steamer will hold more veggies. Again, it's kind of a single task, but so nice that it also goes well with the pan that I don't mind.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Not everything fits
