The diesel engine cover fits perfectly with the o-ring it had, in my case a smaller o-ring was not required. I've read that a lot of people had trouble getting the old DEF cap off the cable. I tried a small flathead screwdriver with little effect until I accidentally ripped the string from the pad. I carefully clamped the cap in a vise with cardboard next to the jaws, starting at the hole next to the cord, using a screwdriver I removed the ring from the cap. Fitting the new cover was easy with just your fingers. The strap snapped back into the hole in the backplate and I was ready to go. You look great. Total time approx. 15 minutes.
