If you're going to use a mechanical suction cup it seems pretty good but it's almost impossible to get advice without paying what the tool costs, so for about 25 grand (and no less for fakes) I bit the bullet and got the Hakko 30x series and oh my god it's worth it. If you can't afford Hakko then that will more or less get you there. I've never been good with wicks, I'm prone to overheating and it doesn't get much better. Try soldering and/or fluxing to make melting and sucking easier, and watch YouTube videos.
