EVERYONE should have one of these in every car at this price! You can clear over 99% of the codes that cause the "Check Engine" light to illuminate! Cars are so complex these days that the on-board electronics control EVERYTHING! Therefore, a loose gas cap can cause the Check Engine light to come on! My local Dodge dealer told me I need a new $1000 main processor for anything to happen intermittently. I bought one of these and pocketed it; left plugged in while driving and 5 days later - Valla! (sp?) The code said I had a bad ignition switch! Small switch under the dashboard on the steering column! It took 10 minutes to get a replacement from a local auto parts store for $12.00 - AND I'M NOT A MECHANIC! Needless to say, I don't even let my local Dodge dealer change the oil anymore! (But all car dealerships have incompetent mechanics! They call them "replacement technicians"! They swap out parts until they fix the problem, not diagnose it!
