I've owned half a dozen car tom tom gps's over the years. I only bought these because the so-called "Lifetime" cards were no longer supported on my old device and the voice creaked. It took some time to get used to the different menus and displays. I wouldn't say it's a comfortable transition from the old tom toms. My biggest complaint is that when I'm not driving the route it shows a dark, hard to read 2D road map, north is up. I would have liked a 3D driving direction with clearly recognizable streets and names like in the old ones. It has a big screen but the streets and writing appear smaller than on the smaller sets. Narrator turn-by-turn navigation has been disabled by default. It took me a while to figure out how to turn it on. The Bluetooth connection was easy to set up, but it took a while to figure out how to get the phone connection working. Older systems told me when my phone was connected. The 6 inch screen is good, but it sits too high on my truck's dashboard and covers most of the windshield. I've tried rotating the mount to lower it but the display won't rotate. I don't like having to select the menu to cancel the route and select everything else. I don't like it when you reach your goal it goes to the default 2D map display. In my case, it shows my entire golf course, but you have to zoom in to see the street names. The WiFi connection is good! I can update Tom Tom while it's in the driveway at home instead of taking it out and plugging it into my laptop overnight. The sound quality of the voice is much better. I've only had it a month so it could be more. No traffic warnings and no detour occurred. I'll have a real job next month when I drive back to Canada from Arizona. instead of taking it out and plugging it into my laptop overnight. The sound quality of the voice is much better.
