Nightmare good for Car Video

This GPS is a nightmare. I was trying to upgrade my old 1400 volume because it was getting slow. This GPS starts up quickly and has a good screen, but that's about it! I tried 8 times in different places with different directions. It always finds the destination address and then issues a global travel map. That's all. 15 minutes brings NOTHING. No turn-by-turn directions, no street view, nothing. I tried to wait Nothing. It turns on in Street View after you drive 10-12 minutes. And then it's…

Lifetime Global Maps is a lie and lack of support

UPDATE: I received an email from support about 2 weeks after I sent it and after I returned the product giving me a one time map available provided download. Lifetime map updates around the world are false advertising. **ORIGINAL POST: I bought this for a trip to Europe because it includes lifetime maps of North America, South America, Europe, etc. My Garmin is a few years old and it costs $99 to download a map of Europe. The TomTom multi-continent maps and lifetime updates listed on the Revain

Lots of changes from my previous tom toms

I've owned half a dozen car tom tom gps's over the years. I only bought these because the so-called "Lifetime" cards were no longer supported on my old device and the voice creaked. It took some time to get used to the different menus and displays. I wouldn't say it's a comfortable transition from the old tom toms. My biggest complaint is that when I'm not driving the route it shows a dark, hard to read 2D road map, north is up. I would have liked a 3D driving direction with clearly…

Another disappointment from Tomtom!

This item was purchased after a trip to Europe as a replacement/upgrade for a Tomtom Via which served us well on our trip despite a faulty internal battery (this Via was a replacement for another recently purchased Via ). which could not accommodate the required memory expansion card). In any case, despite the cumbersome user interface, this GO 620 has a lot of useful features, most of which we didn't get to try as the device failed for a couple of pretty simple reasons. so far. First…

Maybe a step back.

I've had a lot of tom-toms over the past 10 years. When it became necessary to replace my old GoLive, I decided to purchase the then newest Go620. I've been using it almost every day for 3 months now. I started using it with my old 5" GoLive as many of the previously simple search, history and redirect functions are now too complex for the GO620. The new device offers web searches and can obviously do a lot of things, but during a typical day most of it goes unused as it takes too much…
