The trailer lighting that came with my trailer is defective. I replaced all the wires, bulbs and everything else and they worked for a while and then they were gone. It's easy to install (use zip ties to make sure the cables don't pull or get in the way) and because I can test it before I put it on it's easy to test. I find that the round connector is easier to use and provides a better connection than the traditional 4 pin trailer wire connections.
