Image quality is excellent compared to my wife's Subaru rear view camera. I bought this for my truck. This is a four seater Ram cab with a fiberglass roof. The camera does not stay connected to the monitor. It was connecting and disconnecting about every five seconds. I temporarily hooked it up to my wife's Subaru and it works with the monitor mounted on top of the dash. I believe that the camera will work if it is properly installed in the car like a camera cable. with camera antenna will be in the cabin. In a pickup, the antenna is outside the driver's cab. I hooked up a pair in my basement with two regulated power supplies and was only able to get 16 feet between them before the signal went dead. I've also noticed a refresh time of one second based on what's going on and the time you're seeing on the monitor. So it would be too slow to try to hook up a trailer. I contacted the supplier and received a quick reply asking for measurements and a picture of what was going on. I responded with a description of my truck, 14 feet from tailgate to dash, and a short video of plugging and unplugging the monitor. A month passed and I heard nothing more from them.
