Review on ๐Ÿ”ง 10-Piece Ball Joint Remover Tool Set - ABN Ball Joint Press Kit with Adapters for Effortless Service and Removal by Zach Sornsin

Worked fine on the 2000 Navigator

I have this to replace ball joints on my 2000 Lincoln Navigator. The procedure is the same for Expedition 1997-2003 and Navigator 1998-2003. The ball joint press worked well for me. The ball joints on my satnav are easy to push out and easy to push in. I had to use the largest receiving cup, but I didn't need any other adapters for the job. The total time for actually pressing out and installing the ball joints was less than 5 minutes. Most of the work, in both time and effort, was removing the knuckle and CV axle and then putting them back together. The press itself was inadvertently loaded much more heavily than expected. I made the mistake of pushing out the first ball joint (I used the wrong receiver shell) and essentially pushed the ball joint against itself. I untwisted it a bit with a crusher and four foot pipe to the point where there was a nickel sized dent at the top of the ball joint. I stopped, realizing my mistake, and used a large cup. The ball joint popped right out. However, such misuse of the instrument did not harm him in the slightest. The threads (which I sprayed with lithium grease) were not damaged, the C-clamp itself was not deformed, and the cups were not damaged at all. I've read some negative reviews where people complained about the tool being broken or deformed, but I can't imagine how they did it. My Navigator is a full-size SUV with F-150 suspension. This press worked great for me to remove the original ball joints on an 18 year old SUV that spent its first 16 years in New York. The underside of this SUV is rusty and that press pushed out the ball joints. I highly recommend this ball joint press.
