Worked great on ball joints with 221,000 miles.

Used this to remove what I suspect were original lower ball joints on a 2001 Ford Ranger 4X4 with 221,000 miles. I was worried. I tried knocking them out with a 5lb sled but they wouldn't budge. I put a press in and started spinning. This thing is durable; at least for cars. I kept tightening it and the ball joints didn't move. Finally I saw them slowly moving forward. I was impressed that the C-clamp and included cups held up so well. To be honest I'll probably never use them again, but the…

Outstanding press. Worth every penny. Obtain!

If you are looking for a car press, this is the one you should buy. As my wife can attest, I research everything before I buy. I review as many as I can find, comparing good and bad qualities. Other ratings play a small role, but not in the long run. Some people just don't know how to use this tool or need detailed instructions or they will get lost. Needless to say, this is a great tool that works flawlessly. The C-Clamp is made from forged steel, which is unmatched by other manufacturers…

Great price for an invaluable tool

This is undoubtedly a great tool. I often say that anyone can do the job if they have the right tools. When it comes to removing and installing press-fit ball joints, this is what you need. It had everything needed to remove and install the lower pivots on my Dakota 05. A good tip with this tool or any ball joint press to avoid damaging the tool and/or your control arm is to tap on the threaded rod every few turns. For example, set the tool to extrude the connection and turn the threaded rod…

The lower ball joints MB W123 work with the modification.

My 85MB 300D (W123 body) needed to have a lower ball joint replaced. In rural areas it is extremely unlikely to find a workshop with a suitable crimping machine for such a 32 year old car. I found this cheap kit and lucked out, one of the molded cups was just the right diameter to press in a new ball joint. in place without damaging the rubber boot. All I had to do was trim the cup and use a cutter wheel to cut out a 45 degree angle on the top arm of the press. This allowed the modified tool to

Worked fine on the 2000 Navigator

I have this to replace ball joints on my 2000 Lincoln Navigator. The procedure is the same for Expedition 1997-2003 and Navigator 1998-2003. The ball joint press worked well for me. The ball joints on my satnav are easy to push out and easy to push in. I had to use the largest receiving cup, but I didn't need any other adapters for the job. The total time for actually pressing out and installing the ball joints was less than 5 minutes. Most of the work, in both time and effort, was removing the
