Review on 🚲 XLC Alum Mountain Bike Pedals with 9/16" Spindle by Brandon Hayes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Durable pedals will loosen up after a few miles of use. The black color wears off over time.

These are excellent, high quality pedals and I highly recommend them. I've been using it for about 4 weeks now and so far I'm very satisfied. The product feels hard and heavy and I doubt it will break easily. Some of the other reviews here mention that they are quite stiff. Some even recommend adjusting the tightness of the bearings in the pedals. I disagree and really wouldn't recommend it. To do this, open small plastic dust covers, potentially breaking them and eventually allowing more dirt to enter. Yes the pedals are a bit stiff when new but after 4 weeks of riding mine have improved significantly. I would say ride them for about 50-60 miles and they should loosen up. One negative point: the black paint/coating on my left pedal is already peeling off. This is a cosmetic issue only, but don't expect them to stay completely black for too long.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Damaged
