I've bought/returned a lot of cables and adapters lately because of a lot of false advertising! My final issue was the need for a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter that would work with my Thunderbolt 3 (CalDigit) hub. Surprisingly, even the "Big Name" brands sold me a good bill that didn't work. I was about to give up until I went to the Thunderbolt 3 website. Luckily, a company called "Plugable" had a good guide that was basically built into the website. I was skeptical about their website because it contains some kind of shaky "talisman" and advertisements. I just knew it would be a waste of time. Luckily for me the plug-in was legal! Not only did they say their product would work, but they also explained why other products didn't work. They really went out of their way to advertise that their product is a legitimate ACTIVE adapter that would actually work with my device. Is old. Now that I have a reliable source for DisplayPort-to-HDMI, I'll expand my options to other form factors and media technologies as well. Thanks very much!
