I have fitted a 3.5" catback exhaust to my truck and although I love the sound , the internal rumble was uncomfortable . I installed this in my exhaust pipe about 12 inches before the bend. It was a perfect fit in terms of size. After starting the truck, the volume has definitely dropped by a few dB and during the test drive the roar has completely disappeared. But with every acceleration from medium to high, there was this horrible hissing, leaking sound of a steam line coming out of a New York tunnel. It was terrible! So I removed it from the exhaust pipe with some grease and a hammer. I might have had different results if I had placed it somewhere else (she said) in the exhaust, but I really didn't want to take it apart.
