This is a very high quality product but there are things you need to know. First of all, it's not the same as working with that rubberized sound-absorbing material that you put under the carpet. This uses a much thicker aluminum foil over fiberglass with a very aggressive adhesive. To give the glue the best chance, I started by cleaning my 140,000-mile floor several times with mineral spirits, prepping it with light-colored sticky pads and sandpaper, and then painting it with a fresh can of rattles. I let the paint dry for a week before installing the tunnel shield. It took a sheet of 42x48 and 21x48 to do the entire area of the tunnel from the frame spar to the spar on my 2004 Miata. Once the adhesive makes more than the lightest contact it's difficult to remove without peeling the fiberglass layer, so get it right the first time. I created a template using paper bags and masking tape. Then cut out the template so that it lays flat. I then laid out the template pieces on the tunnel protector to plan the cuts. I bought some inexpensive scissors (ASIN B00LSWLAA8) and they did the job. I had to stop periodically to clean them of glue and fiberglass. The cutting edges are sharp, so wear gloves! I roughly shaped the tunnel screen for my project BEFORE removing the backing paper. Then I organized my work neatly and gradually removed the backing paper by folding it. Work slowly and deliberately. Foil is flexible enough to curl in and around contours, but it has its limitations. The roller I use: (ASIN B07X5SV5FD) is a high quality product suitable for many projects. You must seal the edges as water can seep into the fiberglass layer. DEI recommends their tape for this purpose, but some people have negative comments about the tape. At the recommendation of another enthusiast, I sealed the edges of the RTV. I used Loctite Gray #5699 ASIN B0794BYCZ2. The pressure pot works in any position and makes it easier to apply an even bead. Tape the seams so you get even, clean edges. Again, if you work slowly and deliberately, you can get good results. I used silicone with my finger and wore heavy nitrile gloves from Venom Steel to keep the chemicals off my body (ASIN B00Y2OFGMW). Much luck!
