Our Garmin GPS came with a suction cup mount, but we use the GPS in the RV with a sandbag mount. However, we've found that we can use the GPS in the car in situations where a cell phone and Google Maps just aren't available. Unfortunately, sometimes you just don't know what the lighting is going to be like until you get there. In any case, we ordered this part to make it easier for us to move the GPS between vehicles and for the most part it worked great.
