I bought these for bedroom work so I don't have to run the AC all day in Central CA. One of these units will work in a large room if you don't expect it to go from 90 to 70 instantly. The fan is noisy even on the lowest setting, but cools well. It takes quite a bit of water to fill the water tank - a good 2-3 gallons. The work at tank level only takes about 4 hours. At a low level, closer to 10. A lot depends on your temperatures and humidity. Easy to carry, easy to fill (large pitcher or bucket). The ice tray is useless, the ice melts in about 2 minutes and doesn't really affect the temperature - maybe if you fill the whole tank with ice. The whole block is plastic and lightweight. Although it doesn't seem too fragile
