The build quality and finish is clean and professional which shows confidence in the product. Installation and setup (including installing software on a Mac) was easy, hassle-free, and quick. The kit includes a fairly complete set of accessories, although the user will need a USB cable to power the "Ham it Up" module. It is also recommended to purchase a short USB connection cable to avoid connecting the "NESDR Smart" device directly to the USB port (USB-A to USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 Converter for MacBook Pro is just a job) . This reduces the mechanical stress on the connection - the module is compact, but quite heavy. The CubaseSDR software is almost intuitive, and the features it offers (particularly the spectral displays) are powerful tools for shortwave listening. It's not difficult to set up HF with a frequency offset, but it's better to clarify that there's an upper limit to the frequency range: to get to higher VHF/UHF ranges, not only do you need to pick "through," you need to set the frequency offset to zero. Finally, the included antennas work very well indoors too. I find that a simple telescopic antenna works about as well as a 10 meter wire stretched outside.
