Review on πŸ”Œ Gikfun Soldering Practice Components for Beginners by Matt Kim

More expensive and with fewer features

This kit is great for micro soldering, but there are other kits that are cheaper with an equivalent number of parts of the same size and will have a light show to tell you if you did it right or not. Honestly, given that fact and having just finished working on both kits, I don't see why you would buy one that doesn't have LEDs and circuitry that does something so you can know you have a good connection to all your ICs have connections. It's good. I enjoyed practicing on it. But using a multimeter to determine the quality of the connection wasn't as satisfying as plugging in 9V and seeing how it works. see the LED not working and troubleshoot what went wrong in this circuit to find a solution.

Pros
  • This soldering project requires a basic knowledge of electronics and hands-on skills.
Cons
