This is one of the more affordable wired and wireless options, and this modem is supported by Time Warner/Roadrunner. Out of the box, you must first plug it in and turn it on, then call your cable provider to provide them with the MAC address, which is listed on the bottom of the device. It took them about 20 minutes for their system to recognize and communicate with the modem. Second, install the CD that came with the modem. It wasn't until I spoke to them that I was able to get the disk that came with the modem working. The default username is admin and the password is motorola. I clicked on firewall settings and unchecked the box that said DETECT IP FLOOD. I had no problems with the WiFi connection. I wirelessly connected 2 laptops and a Roku Netflix box with no issues. I highly recommend. With a little patience and following the instructions, this modem will work for you. Some cable systems may not support this modem, but Time Warner does. My other devices are connected wirelessly. So here are the steps. 1. Connect the modem to a computer, cable line, plug it in and call your cable ISP to register the modem's MAC address (located on the bottom of the modem). Enter admin as the username and motorola as the password. Click Firewall at the top left of the page. Uncheck the IP Flood Detection box and click Apply. 4. At this point you can restart your modem and computer if needed.
